Kenton K. Yee
MAHJONG THEATER
I’ve blushed the moon, tiled the sky
with stars, fluffed up your antlers.
You look like a coat rack. Maybe
we need a dolphin. No, I’ll draw
an octopus. It looks like a parachute.
Let’s pretend it’s a jellyfish. The barbs
on its tentacles are toxic. I’m adding
a second jellyfish to double the fun.
I was hoping for All Kongs but I see
Thirteen Orphans between the four
of us. It’s your turn, my reindeer.
I’ll join you on the table. We’ll let
the tentacles shuffle us. We’ll clack
and bang, do things right this time.
