Rogue Agent Issue 139 cover art by Jill Khoury

IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The base for this collage is a map of the California coastline  The map is turned sideways so that East and West are up and down. The map is then inverted and mirrored so that the same stretch of coastline appears four times. The signs that mark major highways are very visible on the map. The majority of the mapped landmass is covered with pictures of bookshelves, the next layer in the collage. These bookshelves are also mirrored and inverted. The books on the shelves are faded but formally bound handcovers. In the third layer of the image, penwork criss-crosses the bookshelves and connects major roadways on the map. Several penstrokes create imaginary roads that cross inland seas made by map manipulation. A column of black numbers, some of them mirrored or inverted, marks the center of the collage. In the collage's final layer, a yellow propeller plane covers a smaller spate of land on the upper left. Three climbers with ropes scale the lower-right face of the image as if collage were a mountain.
